Sadaf with her husband Mark, and their two daughters Alina and Naila
About Sadaf
I grew up in Brookline and am a proud product of the Public Schools of Brookline. I moved back to Brookline in 2019 because I wanted to raise two daughters in Brookline based on my own experience here. I chose to live in the Longwood area (Precinct 3) specifically due to the Lawrence School (which I also attended), the area’s walkability, its proximity to public transportation, and the beautiful green spaces.
I am engaged locally in several ways. I have served as a member of the Expenditures & Revenues Study Committee (E&RSC) for the last year and was the Chair of the E&RSC Schools Subcommittee. I am a board member of the Brookline Parents Organization (BPO) and I also serve on the Lawrence School Site Council. Outside of Brookline, I volunteer on the Board Nominating and Development Committee for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and I am a mentor with the MIT Venture Mentoring Service.
Professionally, I have worked as a technology and product management executive for over 20 years. I have a BSE from the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering, a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and an MBA from The Wharton School.
I am running for Town Meeting in Precinct 3 because I love Brookline and plan to be here for many, many years. As a result, I am committed to ensuring that this continues to be a great place to live for its residents, whether you are raising a family, a young professional, or a retired senior citizen.

Priorities
Housing
We need more housing and more affordable housing, as well as different options for people in different phases of life. I believe we should be building more multi-family and mixed use housing near public transportation. Brookline has become unaffordable for many, and yet many new multi-family housing developments in my neighborhood are $4M condos, which do not serve the primary need in the community. I also believe that we should limit teardowns due to the environmental impact – instead, we should be trying to redevelop these homes into multi-family units whenever possible.
Schools
I believe our schools are one of our most important town assets. I received an excellent education in Brookline and want the same for my children. I have advocated for financial sustainability, transparency, and academic excellence for all students in our schools via my role on E&RSC and the Lawrence School Site Council.
Economic
Development
Brookline has a structural deficit and, like many other communities in Massachusetts, is struggling with high inflation and rising healthcare costs in recent years, while operating within the constraints of Proposition 2 ½. We have to invest in more commercial development in order to help offset the tax burden for our residents - particularly those on a fixed income. This is especially important as costs that are already rising quickly, are expected to continue to increase (e.g. healthcare, energy).
Endorsements
I am proud to have been endorsed by the following organizations.
Brookline for Everyone
Brookline for Everyone advocates for housing policies that promote economic diversity, environmental sustainability, and racial inclusion in our Town.
